Hey! I used your cat to make this little project : https://containedx.itch.io/interactive-resume I added you to credits, let me know if that is okay or should I adjust anything? And as for source code - it is on my github, but no worries, all cat-files are hidden :D Its not commercial, private project for fun.
This was saved in my collection for a looong time and I have finally convinced myself to buy it. Looking forward to finishing my game. Will comment back here when its done (after 6 months, maybe hehe)
Hmm, which game dev software are you using? The blurriness of the sprite looks like it's probably because of your import settings. And yes, Catset is small. All the sprite sizes are 40 x 40 pixels to accommodate all the animations, but the cat itself is usually about 19 pixels wide and 17 pixels tall.
I also use Godot :) I've made the example videos for all of my assets in Godot as well. The canvas size is 160 x 90 pixels, and when you make it full-screen it's nice and big. If you're making a game I'd recommend a slightly bigger screen size, perhaps 320 x 180 to give the cat some space and to fit the widest range of high resolutions, but that's entirely up to you and depends on what type of game you want to make.
Oh, and check this short video out to see how to fix your blurry sprites. It explains it all pretty well, but if you need more information I'd suggest just googling about it and see what comes up. There are a lot of vidoes and info about this and all other things about Godot out there.
I was going to say if you were in unity. To make sure you have it set to no point filter but since you're using a different game engine and you already figured out the issue this doesn't mean too much other than stating this fact
Hey! Someone in my project asked if it was okay to have your assets included in my plugin's source code, since it is open source and therefore accessible. I thought it was fine but I just want to make sure, my intention was never to give away your assets for free... Here is a link to my plugin. In my plugin's license I also specified that the assets are not included for free use. If you are not okay with this, I will remove your assets from the project or will delete the whole project and will be available to refund you however I can. Thank you :')
This is what I was afraid of. Your plugin provides free access to my assets for free to everyone. I'd love to say yes just keep them in there, but it is threatening my survival as an incredibly poor artist. Since it is open source, I guess there is no way to restrict access to the assets themselves, so I will kindly ask that you remove them from there asap. I'm sorry.
Thank you for being open and honest about this. I really appreciate it.
You should probably be more clear about your expectations. It seems like not everyone understands how to use your assets. Look at the media folder. In it there is a folder 'cat' that is essentially just the zip you're selling. https://github.com/tonybaloney/vscode-pets
I just opened an issue on that repo. We'll see where it goes.
I tried downloading the plugin, but couldn't for some reason. I sincerely hope people can't simply extract the cat assets from that plugin and use them for free in their own projects, otherwise you're just giving my assets away for free, and that's very wrong. It's okay to use these assets in your project, even in commecial projects, but not if the project gives others access to the assets and enables them to use these assets in their own projects for free. Please tell me this is not the case.
Truth is, that any asset can be extracted from any game or project with the right tools, that's a compromise that game developers have to deal with. You can't show an image without giving access to the image.
My intention was never to give away your assets for free, nor have I explicitly allowed it to be.
I respect you and your work, I'd be willing to switch to another asset pack if you disapprove of my usage.
As long as you're not giving the actual assets away then it's totally fine :) Of course any asset can be extracted from any game or project with the right tools, that's not what we're talking about here.
Howdy, I made extensive use of this sprite sheet and the KittenSet sprite sheet in my game Synesthesia. I’m a big fan of your work. It’s always sleek, readable, and expressive. Thank you for the effort you put into it.
Hi, thank you! I'm so glad you like them :) I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to make new assets soon. Right now I'm incredibly busy with my main project, so unfortunately making new assets for itch will have to wait a while :/
Pawesome! I love how the cat goes from walking to running as the game gets faster and harder, oh and a nice feature being able to turn into different cats :)
Thanks, glad you like them :) And yes, I might still expand on them. The ledge hang/climb up would be great! Not sure when I'll get the time, but I'll definitely keep that in mind!
Thank you! Hmm, it's totally do-able, but could end up being quite a bit of work depending on which assets, or how many assets you want me to do. I'm a bit swamped with stuff at the moment, but I could do it as a payed commission for you perhaps, if you're up for that. Are you on twitter? Send me a private message there and we can maybe work something out :) Discord works too, or email.
This is so cool! I am going to use it to create a platformer game. I'll credit you for sure! Because i guess this can be used for commercial projects right?
Do you also make tilesets? Let me know! i would be intereseted!
Yes, this can be used in commercial projects. I haven't made any tilesets assets yet, only for my own personal projects. Anyway, glad you like Catset and thanks for the kind words :) Good luck with the platformer game!
Hi, hehe yeah I guess I can do that. I've got an "odd bundle" on sale right now, but I'm guessing you want Catset in some bundle. Any wishes for what else you would like in the bundle?
i love the art ! my cat just died today and i'm trying to find a cat model to immortalize her in a small game and the black model is just perfect . i'll make sure to come back to this whenever i have money to buy it .
Hi there, I'm so sorry about your cat :( I can put catset on sale, but if you're tight on finances, send me a message on twitter and we can work something out. If you're not on twitter then we can do email too, or dicord, or whatever.
Hey , thank you for your kind words , sadly i'm super tight on funds and i don't wanna take advantage of that fact , soi'll just wait until i get money and i'll buy the pack . Thank you so much for the offer .
Thank you! I'm incredibly busy at the moment, so I probably won't add new animations to the pack any time soon, but I'll keep it in mind for the future.
Hi, ok sure :) I just made a bundle for all my asset packs with a discount of over 25%: https://itch.io/s/65300/bundle-all-asset-packs. Right now it only lasts until the end of this month, but I can extend it too if needed.
This is the best!! The only thing is, I downloaded this when it was $4, and now it's $5, and I got a new computer after that, it says I own it, and when I go to download it again, it just gives me the $5 dollar one for free without paying the extra $1. I don't know if this was a glitch or whatever, but I just wonder why it didn't make me pay the extra $1.
Hi, and thanks! Not a glitch. The reason why you didn't have to pay extra is because you already own it. I added two new cats to the set, and then I raised the price a little bit, but everyone who already owns the asset pack should get anything new I add for free :)
Too adorable! I used these in the game Betrayer: Curse of the Spine and you are credited <3 I also like to use these to prototype since they are so cute!
I plan to make a game with fox asset and maybe also with cat asset, its gonna be my first full game and if i will get any income i cant wait to support you with extra cash :D I love this assets, and i hope to see in future some titlesets and items as well <3
Oh thank you for the kind words, and I'm glad you like my assets :) I'm planning on making more, just been a bit busy with other projects. Good luck with your first full game!
Oh yes, I'm aware of this and I've been meaning to fix it, sorry. I'm actually surprised nobody has mentioned this before. Luckily I didn't make this mistake with my other asset packs. I'll fix it today or tomorrow and let you know when the pack is updated.
Thanks! :) I'm not so sure about my ability to make swimming animations for cats and others, but I might give it a try. I can definitely look into adding a scared animation for the cats, and perhaps other animals too.
Hey looks super cool, do you plan on making the same kind of pack but with cute dog ? i want to make a splash intro for my games and this cats was what i needed, but i could be great if i had a dog too. nice work tho.
I'm guessing you're referring to a top-down 2D rpg? As mentioned in the description, this is an asset pack for 2D sidescrollers and platformers. I might not understand what you mean. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to be more specific and explain a bit more if you want me to understand what you mean.
That's great! Looks cute and seems to suit the rest of the game's art style. I'm glad my catset fits nicely in this interesting game. Thanks for sharing and good luck with Brookhaven!
Aww thank you so much!! I have more content on my Instagram account (link on my profile). Twitter tends to compress videos and remove sound so I don't use it as often.
In love with this! Am I ok to include the assets in an open source project (virtual pet) that others can download for their own websites? Can happily provide some credit in the repository.
Adorable animation, and exactly what I was looking for for my little OST Jam entry, Bombercat - and I see you just added wallgrab and wallclimb animations! I was planning on implementing that in the game originally, but didn't get around to it during the jam.
Oh thanks! It's so nice to run around with bombercat! I guess the bombs don't do anything? Since this was a jam and your first try at Godot, it's pretty sweet! The cat and camera movement feel nice and smooth :) I recently also started to learn Godot and it's great.
Thanks! Well, the bomb particles are active physics, and deal damage, so they can hurt the cat, and you can also use bombs to launch other bombs - but that's about all at this point. :-D I focused mainly on just learning the basics, and getting my usual "perfect pixels with native resolution positioning" going (the way I do it in Kobo Redux), because I wanted to make sure Godot can deliver the kind of smooth player experience I want. And, clearly, it can! There are some minor issues and messy areas, but overall, Godot has been a great experience so far. Might use it for non-game dev as well, as it's actually a lot smoother to use than traditional GUI toolkit solutions, especially if you need to go beyond the basic controls. I'm wondering what it would take to integrate it into VST plugins and the like...
Hello! I sent a msg for you buddy in your other medias hoping to be answer, but no success haha. I need to know if I can hire your services for other chars. Send me a msg, please =)
Hi there, I have barely been active online during this xmas and new years period, but I'll get back at it soon. I received your messages on facebook and I'll reply to you early next week as soon as I get a chance. Thanks for showing interest in my work, it means a lot! Happy New Year!
Hi! Firstly, thank you for purchasing CATSET! It means a lot. I'm not sure if I have the time for commissioned work to be honest. I'm super busy struggling with getting my own projects off the ground, but I am flattered and interested. As you probably know, commissions will be a bit more pricey than this catset which is available to everyone. Feel free to send me a direct message on twitter and we can chat there. My facebook page is also an option :)
I believe your dms are not set to public on Twitter so if you want to follow me back or set them to open then I will hit you up, name is similar to here just full first name, @benjaminlloyd50

Oh nice! Yes of course it's okay :)
This was saved in my collection for a looong time and I have finally convinced myself to buy it. Looking forward to finishing my game. Will comment back here when its done (after 6 months, maybe hehe)
Ah ok, thanks for purchasing and good luck with the rest of development :) Hopefully catset fits nicely into your game.
Hello. I just purchased, and unfortunatelly it seem to be lurry. Can we fix it somehow?
EDIT: FIXED. It was Godot's problem. For Godot 4+ users: disabling Fix Alpha Border fixed blurry problem.
My cat is now sharp and super cute ❤️
Hmm, which game dev software are you using? The blurriness of the sprite looks like it's probably because of your import settings. And yes, Catset is small. All the sprite sizes are 40 x 40 pixels to accommodate all the animations, but the cat itself is usually about 19 pixels wide and 17 pixels tall.
I am using Godot Engine. What import settings would you recommend? On your youtube video cats are quite big and not blurry
I also use Godot :) I've made the example videos for all of my assets in Godot as well. The canvas size is 160 x 90 pixels, and when you make it full-screen it's nice and big. Thank you very much, that's perfect !
For Godot 4+ users: disabling Fix Alpha Border fixed blurry problem.
And by the way : those cats are so amazing and cute, i love them, thanks for sharing them with us 🐈
Oh you're welcome and thank you! Glad I could help :)
I was going to say if you were in unity. To make sure you have it set to no point filter but since you're using a different game engine and you already figured out the issue this doesn't mean too much other than stating this fact
Well, maybe it's good in case some Unity devs have the same issue and end up reading this, so thanks!
Hello, I'm writing a plugin to show pets in the neovim editor, is it okay if I include your assets, the plugin being open source? Thank you!
As long as you don't give access to the spritesheets/gifs themselves, you are free to use my assets in any project :)
Hey! Someone in my project asked if it was okay to have your assets included in my plugin's source code, since it is open source and therefore accessible. I thought it was fine but I just want to make sure, my intention was never to give away your assets for free... Here is a link to my plugin. I just opened an issue on that repo. We'll see where it goes.
Thanks! Yes, this is very concerning, and those assets need to be removed from there right now.
Giusgad, please remove those assets from your open source project as soon as possible and let me know when you have done so.
Yes sorry for not telling you, I already did it yesterday, I apologize again for my mistake I'm truly sorry
Thanks! You are a good person :) Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you with your project.
I sincerely love these! Having a lot of fun using them. So cute and have so much life!
Thanks, so glad you like them :)
I used your spritesheets to make a pet plugin that accompanies Roblox developers as they make games. You've motivated a bunch of developers!
I tried downloading the plugin, but couldn't for some reason. I sincerely hope people can't simply extract the cat assets from that plugin and use them for free in their own projects, otherwise you're just giving my assets away for free, and that's very wrong. Yup yup, sorry about the confusion! Thanks for clarifying!

Oh thanks, and you're welcome! Synesthesia is really fun to play. I posted a tiny review in the comments section :)
This is so cute! I love it!
Oh thank you!
These are adorable! You did a great job. Any plans to do any medium/long hair cats? Would love a fuzzy black cat with the same animations :)
Hi, thank you! I'm so glad you like them :) I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to make new assets soon. Right now I'm incredibly busy with my main project, so unfortunately making new assets for itch will have to wait a while :/
What is the sprite size? Dimensions, to be exact. Thanks in advance
All the sprite sizes are 40 x 40 pixels to accommodate all the animations, but the cat itself is usually about 19 pixels wide and 17 pixels tall.
Great! Thanks for the reply. 👍
Love the catset! I made a small game with it: https://surtri.itch.io/run-kitty-run
Pawesome! I love how the cat goes from walking to running as the game gets faster and harder, oh and a nice feature being able to turn into different cats :)
These are awesome, really enjoying playing around with them. Do you have any plans to expand them any more?
I think a ledge hang/climb up would really make them amazing.
Thanks, glad you like them :) And yes, I might still expand on them. The ledge hang/climb up would be great! Not sure when I'll get the time, but I'll definitely keep that in mind!
Please do! They're a great asset and it would be cool to see them taken further.
Just added these to the set; Ledgegrab, Ledgeclimb, Ledgeclimb Struggle and Ledge Idle :)
Wow I was not expecting that at all. That's amazing, I'm going to check them out now, thank you so much!
Hi, your assets are really cool. Could you make without outline version too?
Ty for reply. Sorry, I'm not that eager(commission thing)
No worries, maybe one day I'll get the time to make versions without outlines.
This is so cool! I am going to use it to create a platformer game. I'll credit you for sure! Because i guess this can be used for commercial projects right?
Do you also make tilesets? Let me know! i would be intereseted!

Hi! Any chance for a new bundle sale soon?
Hi, hehe yeah I guess I can do that. I've got an "odd bundle" on sale right now, but I'm guessing you want Catset in some bundle. Any wishes for what else you would like in the bundle?
Catset, dogpack, lil war hero, foxpack, crowpack, frogpack, mousepack :)
Ok done! You can buy each asset for 25% off, or the whole bundle for 40% off :)
i love the art !
my cat just died today and i'm trying to find a cat model to immortalize her in a small game and the black model is just perfect .
i'll make sure to come back to this whenever i have money to buy it .
Oh ok sure, well you're welcome :)
Very cute, I really want it
You can made more bigger the assets?
Regards!
Well, no, sorry. I'd have to make a whole other Catset from scratch for that.
But you need to be more honest, because the size you show in this video is not the same I get... Waste money!
Regards!
I am honest. I made that video with the spritesheets in this asset pack. They are exactly the same.
I just did a doble check... And was my fault (game engine settings). I want apologize with you.
Regards!
Oh it's ok :) Glad you got it sorted out!
Very cute! And nice animations :)
Thanks! :)
PS any chance of say, a pixel chicken? :)
I'm pretty swamped these days with other projects, but yeah if I get the time I'll keep it in mind :)
Too small... ;(
Hey, wow they are so cute <3.
Have you plans to add additional animations? For example "sleep" and "paw liking" etc.?
Thank you! I'm incredibly busy at the moment, so I probably won't add new animations to the pack any time soon, but I'll keep it in mind for the future.
Hi! I would like to buy all of your packs, is there a way you could bundle them?
Hi, ok sure :) I just made a bundle for all my asset packs with a discount of over 25%: https://itch.io/s/65300/bundle-all-asset-packs. Right now it only lasts until the end of this month, but I can extend it too if needed.
Thank you so much! Purchased <3
You're welcome and thanks for buying! I hope these assets come in handy for you :)
Would you be willing to extend this bundle again? Great Assets and cannot wait to use them!
I might add to it in the future yeah, just super busy with other projects at the moment. Oh and thanks! Glad you like Catset :)
Oh! ok. didn't know that.
Too adorable! I used these in the game Betrayer: Curse of the Spine and you are credited <3 I also like to use these to prototype since they are so cute!
Awesome, that game looks great! Thanks for the comment and kind words, it's nice to know how people use these cats and that you like them :)
I plan to make a game with fox asset and maybe also with cat asset, its gonna be my first full game and if i will get any income i cant wait to support you with extra cash :D
I love this assets, and i hope to see in future some titlesets and items as well <3
Oh thank you for the kind words, and I'm glad you like my assets :) I'm planning on making more, just been a bit busy with other projects. Good luck with your first full game!
why cat pack cost $4 instead of $3 =3= i wonder
The main reason why Catset is slightly more pricey than the rest, is because there are two cats with a lot of animations.
When I added an extra fox to Foxpack, I considered raising the price, but then decided nah.
I'm already selling these assets for dirt cheap, so lowering the price is simply not worth it.
Oh yes, I'm aware of this and I've been meaning to fix it, sorry. I'm actually surprised nobody has mentioned this before. Luckily I didn't make this mistake with my other asset packs. I'll fix it today or tomorrow and let you know when the pack is updated.
Oh you were not being rude at all! I appreciate that you mentioned it, thanks! And thanks for the compliments, I'm really glad you like my animations.
It's great that you could fix the positioning yourself, but I went ahead and fixed this asset pack anyway for everyone else.
All spritesheet frames and gifs are now 40x40 pixels and it should be a lot less hassle to use them now.
Adore this asset. Plan to buy the rest as well. Will you be adding a scared and/or swimming animation for the cats and other future assets?
Thanks! :) I'm not so sure about my ability to make swimming animations for cats and others, but I might give it a try. I can definitely look into adding a scared animation for the cats, and perhaps other animals too.
Ok, new "fright" animations are in the pack :)
Wow. That was quick. I love it!
Nice, glad you like it!
Just bought, it's wonderful.
Oh nice! I'm glad you like it, thanks :)
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for, for my game :)
Btw, are you free to do some custom paid assets?
Oh hi, you're welcome and glad you like CATSET <3
I'm quite busy with another project, but it depends what kind of assets you want. You can send me a DM on twitter or we can email too if you prefer.
Hey looks super cool, do you plan on making the same kind of pack but with cute dog ? i want to make a splash intro for my games and this cats was what i needed, but i could be great if i had a dog too. nice work tho.
Hehe yeah I've been thinking of making a DOGPACK but never got around to it. Now I might just do it! Glad you like CATSET tho :)
sweet! Can wait to see it ;)! Its all i would need for my splash screen! You think you gonna think about it soon? I'll give you a follow anyway!
I've been wanting to make more assets for itch, but I'm just too busy with another project. I'll try to make the time at some point. We'll see.
sure! Good luck in your future project!
Thanks! :)
Walk up and down?
Up and Down? You mean wallclimbing? There is a wallclimbing animation and a wallgrab animation in Catset. I'm not sure what you mean otherwise, sorry.
Game RPG 2D
I'm guessing you're referring to a top-down 2D rpg? As mentioned in the description, this is an asset pack for 2D sidescrollers and platformers. I might not understand what you mean. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to be more specific and explain a bit more if you want me to understand what you mean.
mmmmmm I understand, I needed all four directions of movement, but thanks.
This is so cute
Thank you :)
Hello~ I'm using this asset in my game, Brookhaven, and thought you'd like to see it. She's in the last screenshot. Thank you for sharing it!
That's great! Looks cute and seems to suit the rest of the game's art style. I'm glad my catset fits nicely in this interesting game. Thanks for sharing and good luck with Brookhaven!
Added it to my steam wishlist! Looks great! I'll be following. edit: I found your twitter! Really looks amazing.
Oh thanks! I'm glad you like it :) And yes that's just fine. Credit is appreciated but not necessary.
Thanks very much. :)
Knk ücretsiz versen olurmu, nolur çok lazım hiç bir yerde bulamadım başka çok güzel olmuş eline sağlık
Nice work. I love it.
Thank you!

very fun i just gave it a play. nice work! :)
Thank you! :-)
There is a TODO and design document for the game now, actually. I hope to get back to it eventually.
Happy New Year!
hey, recently purchased this and wanted to pm you about maybe getting more sprites from you. let me know if you are interested. :)
